Teacher Instructions

  1. Discuss the ethical and practical considerations of using AI writing tools.
  2. Students share a section of their writing with an AI tool and ask it for feedback or suggestions.
  3. Students critically evaluate the AI's response: What is useful? What should be ignored? What is the AI getting wrong?
  4. Students decide which (if any) suggestions to incorporate, always maintaining their own voice.
  5. Students reflect on the experience: How is AI feedback different from human feedback?

Teaching Tips

  • Set clear boundaries about what is acceptable use of AI in your classroom.
  • This is a critical literacy activity – students learn to evaluate AI output, not just accept it.
  • Compare AI feedback with peer feedback to highlight the differences.
