Teacher Instructions
- Provide students with a copy of the graphic organiser or have them draw their own. Model this process on the board for class input.
- Students work through each square and respond to each prompt.
- Move around the room, checking in with students and challenging some of their ideas.
- Peer review and discussion should be encouraged at each step.
Teaching Tips
- Students should consider as many aspects as possible of their issue.
- As each bubble is refined down, more layers can be added – this becomes the makings of a persuasion map.
- Consider sending students to news sources (ABC News, The Guardian, local newspapers) to get them thinking about current issues.
