Teacher Instructions

  1. Discuss the concept of an anthology and show examples.
  2. Each student selects their best piece of writing to contribute.
  3. Students form editorial teams responsible for different aspects: editing, design, layout, foreword.
  4. Editorial teams review and provide final feedback on submissions.
  5. Compile the anthology, create a cover and table of contents.
  6. Decide on distribution: printed copies, digital PDF, or online publication.

Teaching Tips

  • This is an excellent end-of-year or end-of-unit culminating activity.
  • Give students ownership – let them make design and editorial decisions.
  • School anthologies can be used for fundraising or as seasonal gifts.
